OFSAA and Mydoh Announce Collaboration to Empower Student-Athletes with Financial Literacy Skills
Initiative will connect financial wellbeing and sport leadership for more than 270,000 Ontario student-athletes
TORONTO – April 1, 2026 – The Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) is pleased to announce a new collaboration with Mydoh, a youth money app that provides young people with the opportunity to learn skills to manage their money, including setting savings goals, earning allowance and developing life-long financial skills.
Student-athletes develop discipline, goal setting and resilience through sport. These same qualities can help young people build solid money habits, including saving, budgeting and making thoughtful spending decisions. Through this collaboration, Mydoh and OFSAA will help students develop practical financial skills that support their success both on and off the field.
As part of the collaboration, Mydoh will bring financial literacy programming directly to OFSAA. Mydoh’s chief executive officer, Angelique de Montbrun, and RBC Olympian swimmer, Apollo Hess, will participate in a fireside chat focused on building financial confidence and real-world money skills for teens. The collaboration will also include a promotional offer for OFSAA student-athletes who sign up for Mydoh for the first time, which can be used toward OFSAA merchandise.
“We’re proud to collaborate with Mydoh on an initiative that supports student development beyond competition,” said Shamus Bourdon, Executive Director of OFSAA. “Sport teaches resilience, leadership and teamwork. Introducing financial literacy alongside those lessons helps equip students with skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.”
“At Mydoh, we believe financial confidence is a life skill – just like discipline and perseverance,” said Angelique de Montbrun, chief executive officer at Mydoh. “Athletes understand that success takes practice, dedication and consistency. Building strong money habits works the same way, and this collaboration helps student-athletes develop financial skills that will serve them long after competition ends.”
The collaboration connects the lessons learned through sport with financial literacy, helping students build skills that prepare them not just for championships, but for life.
